Remembering a Hero and an Angel:
Caitlin Hammaren

Caitlin Hammaren, 19, sophomore majoring in international studies, from Westtown, New York; graduated from Minisink Valley High School, Slate Hill, N.Y.

Caitlin loved to sing and ride horses.

And she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and served as the resident adviser of the Resident Leadership Community at Peddrew Yates Hall, a campus dormitory.

“She was the nicest person I have ever met,” said Vanessa Oravec about Caitlin, who was her dorm adviser. “She would do anything for you at the drop of a hat without any questions. She was always there to help you, or just talk. Late night she would stop in and say hi whenever she could. She was always dedicated to helping her friends and the community.”

John Latini, principal of Minisink Valley High School, summed up how wonderful Caitlin was when he said this: “She was just one of the most outstanding young individuals that I’ve had the privilege of working with in my 31 years as an educator. Caitlin was a leader among our students.”

Caitlin Hammaren is one of the greatest angels in Heaven.

We miss him.

We honor him.

We love him.

We will never forget him.
